Sakura Martini
Recipe (makes 1)
2.5 oz sake, preferably a Junmai Ginjo
1 oz Cirrus Vodka
¼ tsp Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
Salted Cherry Blossom
Stir in a mixing glass with ice until well chilled. Strain into martini glass and garnish with salted cherry blossom.
What are these ingredients?
Junmai Gingo is a style of Japanese sake that has a rice polishing ratio of at least 60%, which generally results in sake that is floral, fruity, clean-tasting and light bodied–perfect for this cocktail.
Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur is a secret weapon; and no bar is complete without it. Made from sour Marasca cherries, resulting in a complex spirit that improves many cocktails.
Salted Cherry Blossoms can be found on Amazon. The flowers offer a salinity to the cocktail, playing off the briney flavors of classic martini garnishes.
