take flight
Mother Nature was kind to us for this one. A pleasantly cool, late August evening, with a light breeze made the ridiculously beautiful and almost-360-degree views from this location even more perfect. The location was Frank Field, the only operational private airstrip in Rockingham County, made everyone feel like they were indeed flying above this gorgeous valley
Inspired by the golden age of travel, this dinner featured dinner on the runway, a plane parked in the open hangar and another that did a fly over during cocktails. The theme carried through the retro first-class inspired menu and classic cocktails, to every last table detail--menus in the shape of baggage tickets, custom packaged airplane peanuts (ours were roasted cashews with rosemary and smoked salt), and even boxes of candy cigarettes for after dinner.
A wedding a few ridges over let off giant fireworks right as we were finishing dessert to the delight of all of our guests!
